We build our lives on the illusion of meaning to avoid facing the absurdity of existence. We assemble belief systems, myths, dreams and rationalisations—anything that can veil the void when familiar structures of reality collapse.
How to answer the question: are we saved by our illusions, or trapped by them? Perhaps illusions help us cope with the world. Or, conversely, they condemn us to wander a labyrinth of self-deception.
There is no ready answer. The death of illusions is not only a loss; it is also the birth of a new way of seeing.
