About

I live within shifting events and the legibility of meaning; it is precisely in this dynamism that a space opens for reflection and the invention of new artistic forms. My practice centres on human identity—its fluctuations, vulnerability and strength. I am concerned with how personal experience, everyday life and culture shape a person, and how this becomes visible in appearance and ways of thinking.

Travel is one of my research methods: being in situ affords a different register of perception and empathy. Photography, for me, is a “clean” medium of primary capture, from which material work often grows—intervening in the surface, reworking form, coupling image and object.

I am acutely aware of how, in recent years, digital infrastructure has come to define the language of communication; hence my deliberate turn to material, hand-based practices. Physical engagement with materials restores to the work the value of touch and the fullness of sensory experience. I do not set the digital against tradition: for me, the digital is a natural continuation of the history of the image—another way to refine a thought and render it tangible.
